Especially in the summer, mainly in the months of May through September, the castle is home to many weddings. With its garden (which is often used for wedding ceremonies), festive halls and hotel rooms it's suited really well for that. Usually the parties are held in the Jagdsaal (Hunting Hall) or the Remise (former horse stable). But today - a Friday wedding which is a little unusual in itself - the wedding is being held in the Kelterhalle (the former wine-pressing hall of the winery when it was still a huge estate up until 1863).
As you can see from the photograph the rustic room is also very-well suited for a wedding party, especially when adding a little white, light and color. There is even enough room for dancing on the tiled floor.
While most weddings (and parties generally) are hosted by local or regional folks, we have had a few weddings for which hosts and guests flew in from abroad. Hey: Why not for a once-in-a-life event?
